Wanted: Student Volunteers for SIOP 2012!

Students, are you looking for a way to get more involved? Are you interested in meeting and networking with other students and members of SIOP? Would you like some extra spending money while at the annual conference?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, we may have the solution.

If you are a SIOP Student Affiliate and would like to assist with the SIOP 2011 conference in San Diego, simply indicate your interest when you register online for the conference. If you do not register online, you must attach a note to your faxed or mailed registration form indicating a wish to volunteer. Volunteers assist in a variety of ways such as helping with registration, assembling materials and signs, and serving as direction and information providers.

Volunteers will be needed starting on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 24, and running through Saturday evening. Each volunteer is obligated to serve a total of 4 hours, though it may be served in 2 or 3 different blocks of time. Upon completion of your 4-hour obligation, you will receive a token of appreciation. Last year, student volunteers received a $60.00 prepaid Mastercard.

Volunteers are selected based on when they register and their availability for a particular day and time. So register early and be flexible in your availability and you’ll have a better chance of being selected.  Tori Culbertson (satoris@ksu.edu), Volunteer Coordinator, organizes the volunteers and will contact each selected volunteer a month before the conference by email regarding their assignment.
