Located in the state capital, the University of Illinois Springfield is one of three campuses of the University of Illinois. About the Job
The Psychology Department at the University of Illinois at Springfield has an opening beginning August 16, 2013, for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Requirements include a Ph.D. from an accredited university, with a focus in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology or Judgment & Decision Making, to teach undergraduate upper and lower division courses in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Judgment & Decision Making, Personnel Selection, Research Methods, Senior Seminar, and Principles of Psychology/Introduction to Psychology, with the possibility of teaching Psychological Tests & Measurements, Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences, and courses in the candidate's specialty area. Normal teaching load is three 4 credit hour courses per semester, with the potential for online teaching and evening classes. Advising is required. The applicant should demonstrate potential for scholarship and/or research in a specialty area. College teaching experience is preferred, and dedication to teaching is essential. A Ph.D. must be awarded by the start date.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Psychology with specialized training in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Judgment & Decision Making from a regionally accredited university by the start date. Prior evidence of excellence in teaching and a demonstrated potential for research is desirable. UIS is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
