About the Job
The Department of Psychology at the Virginia Military Institute invites applications for a tenure track position to teach a core-curriculum course in leadership and other courses in psychology. Degree requirements for the position include the Ph.D. (or ABD) with academic qualifications to teach both leadership and other psychology courses in a small, collegial eight member department offering BA and BS degrees in psychology. Normal per semester teaching load is two sections of leadership and one section of another psychology course. Prior military experience is
not required for this position, but previous leadership experience is desirable so as to provide credibility in the eyes of our students. Also desirable is a passionate desire to make a significant positive difference in the lives of cadets. Performance is measured based on: teaching, scholarly engagement, professional citizenship, and cadet development.
