About the Job

The Organization Development Manager at Payless Holdings, Inc. is member of a high-performing Organization Development/Learning & Development team.  The mission of the OD team is to build effective and efficient HR solutions that drive organization development and effectiveness through structure, process, strategy and the selection, development, engagement and retention of top talent.  The PSS OD team operates as a center of excellence and resource for all of the business units.

Job Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this role will include leading strategy and process, and managing a team to complete projects in the areas of:

  • Competency modeling & implementation
  • Assessment & selection
  • Talent management and development processes
  • Performance management
  • Employee engagement surveys and action plans

Other responsibilities include working with HR generalists and business leaders on:

  • Organization effectiveness projects

Job Requirements


  • Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Business required
  • A minimum of three years experience in I/O or organization development-related position
  • Background in HR best practices
  • Proven track record in working effectively with others to achieve results
  • Experience leading and motivating a team
  • Team player/relationship builder with strong influencing, organizational and negotiating skills
  • Ability to build partnerships & work through others to influence
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to work effectively with senior business leaders
  • Proven business judgment and experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Customer service orientation
