About the Organization

The Department has 16 primary faculty members who serve as PIs on over $29 million in research grants and contracts. The Department has strong collaborative relationships with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Iowa City VA Health Care System, as well as with other colleges, departments, and centers throughout the University.  The Department’s PhD, MHA, and MPH in Policy programs have an excellent history of recruiting, training, and placing graduates. Over 1,100 Department alumni work in a wide variety of academic units, healthcare settings, and professional organizations nationally and internationally. The College is located in a beautiful state-of-the-art, LEED Platinum building. About the Job

The Department of Health Management and Policy in the University of Iowa’s College of Public Health seeks applicants for an open rank tenure-track or tenured faculty position in health management and organization. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in health services research, management and organization, sociology, or a related discipline at the time of appointment.

Candidates with additional teaching and research interests in evaluation and outcomes, dissemination and implementation, or translational research are especially encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in health services research, management and organization, sociology, or a related discipline at the time of appointment.

Commensurate with years of experience, candidates must demonstrate the ability to advise graduate students, teach courses, conduct extramurally funded research, and publish in peer-reviewed journals in one or more of the following areas: health care management, organizations, systems, or finance. At the Associate or full Professor rank, candidates must be able to mentor junior faculty and have an active, externally funded research portfolio.
