Welcome to SIOP. We appreciate your interested in joining our organization. Follow these steps in order to complete a membership application successfully.


Note: This software is database driven, meaning, whatever you do on each page is recognized by the server, therefore, you may experience a quick refresh or flash of the page you are on. This is just the database reading what action you have just taken on the page. You will also need you resume and possibly other documents (if you are not in the I-O field) during the application process, so make sure they are locally accessible.

  1. Click on "Being New Application" from the main page.
  2. Create a unique username and create a password of at least six characters.
  3. Enter in your Title (e.g. Mr., Mrs., Dr., Col.), First, and Last name. If a similar name is found, and you feel that information displayed is yours, select "login" to be sent to the login page, or "request username/password" if you don't know your username and password.
  4. Enter in the type of membership you wish to achieve, "Member", "Associate", or "International Affiliate". Click here to find out which best suits your status.
  5. Enter in all required address information, denoted by "*". Please verify the email address you enter in is correct and working. You will receive notifications via email of our application after submission and after the review process. For any reason this address is changed in the future, please call our Administrative Office.
  6. Select the status you currently have with APA, APS, or CPA.
  7. Fill in all information of your educational history. Try to be as precise as possible, especially with the accrediting organization of your school. This will speed up the application process.
  8. For I-O related fields, you will need to upload your resume. For fields other then that of I-O Psychology, you are required to upload two articles published in I-O related journals with appropriate citations, two letters of recommendation written by current Society Members, two abstracts/executive summaries of unpublished research or evaluation reports with appropriate citations in the I-O areas, OR a list of I-O related courses taught including institution and date.
  9. Finally, read through the terms of agreement before noting your approval. Your application will only be processed when indication of agreement is checked. If for any reason you feel questionable about any of the terms, please feel free to contact our Administrative Office. Review the information displayed. If you need to go back and correct any part of the application, click "Review" to go back through the application. You should receive 2 verification emails to the email address you provided in the application process.
