Practitioner Speed Benchmarking Session to Take Place at SIOP Conference

Would you like to network and benchmark with other practitioners facing similar challenges?

Be a part of the Professional Practice Committee’s Practitioner Speed Benchmarking Event!

If you’re a mid-to-late career practitioner, you’re invited to participate in facilitated benchmark discussions at our Speed Benchmarking event taking place Thursday, April 4, from 4:30-6:00 pm in National Harbor 14 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Participants will have the opportunity to participate in two 30-minute benchmarking discussions on topics of their choosing. In order to participate at a benchmarking topic table, you must be a SIOP professional member and meet the criteria outlined for that topic.

Benchmark Topics Available:

  • Evolving Hiring contexts: Selection, Assessment, Validation
  • Leadership Development
  • Surveys/Engagement/Life Cycle Surveys
  • Performance Management

Detailed descriptions of each topic area are available at the registration link.
 
Spots are limited and are only available on first come, first served basis. If you would like to participate, please reserve your space and select the benchmarking areas of your choice here! We will do our best to align participants with their topics of greatest interest.

Practitioner Speed Mentoring

SIOP welcomes interested early career practitioners to participate as protégés to interact with accomplished Mentors at the Speed Mentoring event taking place on Friday, April 5, from 4:30-6:00 pm in National Harbor 4 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Participants will have the opportunity to participate as protégés in two 30-minute roundtable topic-driven discussions guided by experienced Mentors in the topic area.

Practitioner Speed Mentoring Topics Available:

  • Internal vs External consulting 
  • Innovations in Employee Selection
  • Future Leaders and High Potentials
  • HR Talent Analytics and Big Data
  • Driving a High Performance Culture
  • ROI/Utility
  • Best Practices & What’s Trending in Interviewing
  • Transitioning from Student to Practitioner (student table)
  • How to Create Your Personal Brand (student table)

Topics will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants will receive an email confirmation of participation once all slots have been filled and registration has closed. Register here by March 5.

Speed Mentoring for Creating Scientific Impact

The SIOP Scientific Affairs Committee is delighted to welcome interested SIOP members to participate as protégés and interact with accomplished mentors at the sixth annual “Speed Mentoring” special event on Friday, April 5, 2019, 4:30-6:00PM in National Harbor 5 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Protégés that sign up for this special event will get the opportunity to engage in two consecutive 30-minute small group discussions guided by leading experts in the field.

Scientific Speed Mentoring Topics Available:

  • Generating impactful research ideas
  • Developing cross-disciplinary partnerships and collaborations
  • Using social media and other tools to increase the visibility of your research
  • Translating research different audiences (e.g., practitioners, general public)
  • Strategies for securing research funding
  • Leveraging big data in research
  • Disseminating research findings in the classroom
  • Collaborating with consulting firms and organizations on research
  • Ensuring the scientific integrity of your research

We will do our best to align protégés to their topics of greatest interest. However, topics will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Registration will remain open through March 30.
