Must-See List for Grad Students at #SIOP16

2/10/2016-

by SIOP Administrative Office

Are you a graduate student trying to get the most out of this year’s SIOP conference?  The Education & Training Sub-Committee on Graduate Student Issues has developed a handy new resource just for you!

The one-page schedule is a snapshot of special events and educational sessions that volunteer members of the committee believe may be most useful for the professional development goals of any graduate student. View the schedule on the conference page of the website. Bookmark it on your phone or print a paper copy for ease of reference during the conference.

Topics covered in the list range from help in getting an internship, to thriving in your life as a grad student, and ways to be entrepreneurial as an I-O Psychologist.  Along with more traditional sessions, the Must-See List includes a variety of alternative sessions including the IGNITE Your Career Session. Community of Interest sessions are informal and highly interactive learning opportunities. Poster presentations and the exhibit hall provide self-guided enrichment opportunities.

The SIOP Annual Conference is supported by 70 organizations who partner with us as exhibitors, sponsors, and advertisers. Be sure to include plenty of time to visit the exhibit hall while you are in Anaheim. The hall will be open on Thursday and Friday, and the exhibitor map and directory will help you as you plan your conference schedule.

Contacts made through networking is one of the career-long benefits that attendance at #SIOP16 offers and there are a number of receptions and other social occasions in the schedule. Of special note, if you are a first-time SIOP attendee, is the Newcomers Reception on Wednesday at 5pm. Please visit the 2016 SIOP Conference Receptions page for more details.
