SIOP's Outtz and Lowman On APA’s CEO Search Committee

3/2/2016-

by SIOP Administrative Office

SIOP’s President-Elect James L. Outtz and former Executive Board Member Rodney Lowman are members of the CEO search committee recently convened by the APA.

Lowman, who is a Distinguished Professor with the Organizational Psychology Programs at the California School of Professional Psychology, is co-chair of the committee. Outtz is President of Outtz and Associates in Washington, DC.

The committee will work with a professional search firm in developing search criteria, reviewing candidates and making recommendations to the APA Board of Directors.

The final candidate will be selected by the Board of Directors and the APA Council of Representatives will be asked to confirm the selection. It is expected the process will take about six months.

Cynthia Belar is currently serving as Interim CEO at the APA, having taken the office on January 1. Before her retirement in 2014, she served as APA’s Executive Director for Education.
