Event Opportunity: Coalition for National Science Funding Exhibition on Capitol Hill on April 26

SIOP members in the Washington, DC area are encouraged to attend the 22nd annual Coalition for National Science Funding (CNSF) Exhibition & Reception on Capitol Hill.  The Exhibition will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in rooms B338-340 of the Rayburn House Office Building.  Dr. Debra A. Major from Old Dominion University will represent SIOP and share research supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorates for Education and Human Resources (EHR) and Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) on factors that contribute to persistence in STEM undergraduate majors and careers.

As a member of CNSF, SIOP will join other societies, associations, and universities active in the science advocacy community to feature diverse and multidisciplinary research sponsored by the NSF. Members of Congress, congressional staff, program managers from NSF and other federal agencies, and members of the science community attend the Exhibition.  The Exhibition is also an opportunity to advocate for continued federal investment in NSF, complementing SIOP’s ongoing government relations initiatives related to NSF.  To register to attend the event, click here.
