New Editors Sought for SIOP Frontiers Series and SIOP Professional Practice Series

SIOP is now soliciting nominations for two editor positions: SIOP Organizational Frontiers Series and SIOP Professional Practice Series. The new editors will be selected by the Publications Board and approved by the Executive Board.

The new editors-in-training will begin working with the current editors in December 2018 and will assume their duties on April 1, 2019. Rich Klimoski is the incumbent editor of the Organizational Frontiers Series and Nancy Tippins is the incumbent editor for the Professional Practice Series.

The position term is 5 years. Below are brief descriptions of the editors’ requirements. Complete information on the positions and the nomination/application process will be emailed to current SIOP members.

The editor must be a SIOP Fellow or Member. Any SIOP Fellow or Member can nominate for the editorship. Self-nominations are also welcome. Nominations and self-nominations are due by August 24, 2018. Neal Schmitt is chairing the selection committee for the Organizational Frontiers Series and Mark Poteet is chairing the Professional Practice Series selection committee.

Requirements for Organizational Frontiers Series Editor

It is highly desirable that the series editor be an experienced researcher who works in an academic or applied research position, for whom the conduct and application of research in the organizational sciences is a substantial component of their position. The series editor should also have a broad perspective of I-O Psychology, including both its scientific base and the full spectrum of applications. If you are interested in serving as a series editor, or if you know someone who might be interested, submit your nomination, via email, to Neal Schmitt by August 24, 2018.

Requirements for Professional Practice Series Editor

It is highly desirable that the series editor be an experienced practitioner. Practitioners would include I-O Psychologists in academic or applied research organization positions for whom applied practice is a substantial component of their position. That is, university faculty who devote virtually all their time to teaching, research, and service would typically not be recruited as a series editor unless their academic appointment was recent and they had substantial practice experience in a previous position. Beyond being expert in particular practice areas, the series editor should also have a broad perspective of I-O Psychology, including both its scientific base and the full spectrum of applications. If you are interested in serving as a series editor, or if you know someone who might be interested, submit your nomination, via email, to Mark Poteet by August 24, 2018.
