NSF and US ARI Announce Funding Opportunities

The U.S. Army Research Institute for Behavioral and Social Sciences (ARI) released a broad agency announcement (BAA) for its Foundational Science Research Unit (FSRU), which carries out the agency’s basic research in behavioral science.  Through this BAA, the Army is seeking groundbreaking multidisciplinary basic research approaches that will address difficult challenges facing the Army and lead to improvements in personnel performance. White papers, although encouraged, are not mandatory and should be submitted by April 12, 2019 at 5:00 PM EDT.  Full proposals should be submitted no later than July 12, 2019 at 5:00 PM EDT.  Read more about the announcement on SIOP’s Government Relations Advocacy Alerts page.

The National Science Foundation released a Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) for the first, pilot NSF Convergence Accelerator (C-Accel) activity, which aims to fund approximately 60 Phase 1 projects at up to $1 million each, with proposals due in the spring of 2019 and projects to start no later than the fall. In 2020, Phase 1 projects will be eligible to apply for Phase 2 C-Accel support, for up to $5 million.

Webinars to answer questions about the submission process or about C-Accel broadly will be held on March 27 and April 3 at 2 pm EDT.  Read more about this opportunity and the webinars on the Government Relations Advocacy Alerts page.
