The Future of Employee Engagement – Leveraging Technology to Maximize Engagement and Improve Corporate Culture Jack Morehouse, Co-Founder of Perceptyx, Inc. At Perceptyx, we believe employees want to be heard and employers value productive, engaged workers. With that in mind, we have developed a technology that takes the traditional employee survey and transforms it into a tool that does more than just measure, it actually increases engagement as a part of the process. It is no longer enough to just measure – a process that tragically, can decrease employee engagement. Now it is about asking the right questions, hearing what employees have to say and involving them in the process of leveraging personal and organizational strengths to benefit both the employee and bottom-line business results… in real-time, in any language.

360-Degree Evaluations of Emotional Intelligence Katie Ziemer, R&D Manager 360 evaluations of Emotional Intelligence (EI) help to identify gaps between self-perceptions of EI behaviors and the perceptions of colleagues. The success of such a tool in measuring well-rounded feedback relies on the standardization process (creating North American 360 Norms) and understanding the unique relationships between rater groups, self-ratings, and indicators of success. Such results will be shared from the new EQ 360 norms as well as a practical toolkit for addressing common pitfalls of 360s in talent management and personal development initiatives.

Cornerstone Management Resource Systems

Task-Based Assessment Centers (TBACs): The Next Generation of Employee Assessment and Development Joe Thoresen, President, and Carl Thoresen, PhD, Vice President, Cornerstone Management Resource Systems Despite widely-acknowledged methodological and practical shortcomings, use of the assessment center (AC) method for identifying and developing top talent remains unabated – largely because a viable alternative has not been presented. To this end, we offer the Task-Based Assessment Center (TBAC), which replaces trait- or dimension-based assessment with a more functional, performance-focused approach. Using AC research as a guide, we review advantages of the TBAC model over the traditional AC method. We then outline steps in the design and implementation of a TBAC, and provide real-life illustrations from an operational TBAC.
