What is I-O?

Industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology is the scientific study of the workplace. Rigor and methods of psychology are applied to issues of critical relevance to business, including talent management, coaching, assessment, selection, training, organizational development, performance, and work-life balance.

Benjamin Schneider (University of Maryland), Amy Nicole Salvaggio (University of Maryland), and Montse Subirats (University of Valencia) are recognized for  the best article published in industrial organizational psychology in 2002: Schneider, B., Salvaggio, A. N., & Subirats, M. (2002). “Climate strength: A new direction for climate research.” Journal of Applied Psychology, 87, 220–229.
