What is I-O?

Industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology is the scientific study of the workplace. Rigor and methods of psychology are applied to issues of critical relevance to business, including talent management, coaching, assessment, selection, training, organizational development, performance, and work-life balance.

SIOP History Posters

In 2009, the SIOP conference chair invited all the former (and current) program chairs to a reunion in the hope that we could start to memorialize some of the information that has been passed down over the years from program chair to program chair, and to provide further support for current and future program chairs.  In the course of this discussion, the former program chairs came up with several excellent suggestions for how to commemorate the 25th conference.  One of the suggestions that generated the most  enthusiasm was to have a set of factoids for each year of the conference that illustrates the changes over the years.  These posters were created by Historian Paul Levy and his talented grad students with help from Julie Olson-Buchanan and others.  From now on, a poster will be created to commemorate events at each SIOP Conference.
