About the Job

 Members of the Research Department work collaboratively with the executive team to set and execute the Company’s scientific agenda. The Department is responsible for the scientific validity and efficacy of all PI Worldwide products and services.

 
II.   KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS

 

 Proactively conduct on-going research as necessary to maintain, increase, and protect the scientific validity of all PI Worldwide products and services. Identify and suggest enhancements/updates  to any PI Worldwide product or service that will further this outcome.

 

 

Conduct criterion-related Validity Studies for Clients, working collaboratively with Consultants as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, probing for and gathering data, data analysis, writing and presentation of final conclusions, and guiding stakeholders in how to interpret and take action from the results.

 

Maintain SME status regarding the measurement and evaluation of psychological and skill-based assessments.

 

Maintain SME status as to the scientific approach and validity of the products and related services of major competitors.

 

Contribute as needed and when appropriate on SME areas to public relations and marketing efforts as the spokesperson for the science behind all PI Worldwide products and services, providing thought leadership, credibility, and assurance to the media and other audiences as to the science, quality, validity, and appropriate use (within EEOC and other guidelines) of all PI Worldwide products and services.

 

Contribute to new product and current product extension evaluation and development.

 

Collaborate as needed with other Departments:

  1. Marketing: to ensure that that all marketing messages are consistent with the science behind the Company’s products and services, as well as their positions in the marketplace.
  2. Learning & Development: to communicate best practices and other vital information to the Consultants
  3. Product Manager: to ensure that product design is scientifically valid.

 

Additional projects and duties as may be reasonably assigned.

 

III. JOB SCOPE

 

Decision Making and Judgment:

·         This position requires high-level decision making abilities and sound business judgment.

 

Job Complexity:

·         Ability to handle problems of a complex nature required.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

·         None.

 

Contacts/Interaction:

·         This position requires frequent high-level interaction with the Company’s corporate team, Consultants, Clients, consulting psychologists, and others.

IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Educational background:

·         Ph.D. in Assessment and Measurement, Quantitative Psychology, Personality and Measurement, Experimental Psychology or similar.

 

Previous work experience:

·         1-4 years of professional experience in research or working for a publisher of psychological tests. Will consider internship experience.

 

Additional skills and abilities:

·         High level of computer literacy, with extensive skills in designing, running, reporting and interpreting SPSS statistical software analyses.

·         Strong interpersonal communication skills

·         Strong writing skills.

·         Highly detail oriented

·         Strong organizational skills.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility in moving from one task to another.
