About the Job
The position reports to the Learning &
Organizational Development Leader and is responsible for using best
practices to develop the overall strategy and design of assessment
processes and practices for the business. In this role, the Sr.
Manager of Talent Selection will lead the design and deployment of
validated and legally defensible assessment programs that help
organizational leaders make strategic talent decisions for external
and internal talent selection to drive a competitive advantage.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for standardizing
practices regarding job analysis and role definition, employee
assessment, and assessment validation that mitigate risk and
maximize workforce capability.
The Sr. Manager of Talent
Selection plays a key leadership role in supporting the global
Learning & Organizational Development group in providing
consultative support to leaders across the business to develop and
deploy assessment systems that support selection, re-organization
placement, employee development and team effectiveness. The
effective candidate will interact with and support key business
units across the business, and will build and maintain strong
collaborative relationships with all areas of the
Company.
This role requires deep expertise in
assessment, including related scientific methodology, statistics,
and legal standards (e.g., Uniform Employee Selection Guidelines
and Principles for the Validation and Use of Personnel Selection
Procedures). A strong knowledge of Organizational Design and
Analysis, Succession Management, Career Management, Performance
Management and measurement of human capital is also
required.
- Collaborate with leaders to understand ongoing
assessment needs, align solutions to address needs, and strive for
continuous improvement
- Lead the development and validation of
assessment tests for critical roles across the
organization
- Conduct job analysis to include interviews,
observations, JAQ development/analysis and job-analysis
documentation
- Develop written exams, oral interviews and
assessment systems in accordance with business needs and industry
guidelines
- Develop assessment system and structured
interview training and conduct training with leaders, hiring
managers and HRGs
- Analyze psychometric properties of tests and
assessments; conduct data analysis on job analysis questionnaires,
etc.
- Write technical documentation sufficient for
legal inquires and in accordance with the Uniform Guidelines on
Employee Selection Procedures
- Assist HRGs and the Learning &
Organizational Development team on selection and other OD projects;
travel as necessary to aid in the administration of
assessment
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. in in I/O Psychology, Organizational
Development, Organizational Behavior or a related field of
study
- 5-8 years experience in assessment design and
development
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic scientific
research methodology and statistics within assessment design and
development.
- Skilled with MS Office and statistical
software packages (e.g., SPSS, Excel, MS Access).
- Ability to build trust and confidence with
clients throughout the organization
- Must bring systems thinking/ strategic
perspective to effectively develop and deploy learning &
organizational development programs
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written
communication, as well as strong presentation skills with a variety
of audiences.
- Exceptional project management skills,
independent problem solving skills, attention to detail,
flexibility, and ability to collaborate with others and to work in
a fast-paced environment are all qualities necessary to be
successful in this position.
