About the Job


This Advanced Level Organizational Development Specialist performs various human resources generalist duties such as talent management, performance management, career/employee development, employee engagement, motivation and retention, employee relations, incentive and recognition, and other special projects.  Contributes to the development of strategies and operational approaches that link employees to company, department and individual goals.  The Organizational Development Specialist partners with management and employees to increase productivity and motivate/retain employees through the optimization of workforce structure.  Serves as contact for employees; answers questions regarding HR policies and procedures.  Works with minimal supervision on complex projects and has latitude for independent judgment.   


  • Drive performance management process including goals and objectives setting, performance feedback, performance improvement plans and rewards and recognition. 
  • Identify organization-wide employee learning and development needs.
  • Develop and implement organization and talent development solutions that support business needs.
  • Advise managers and employees in resolving complex employee relations issues through the interpretation and explanation of company policies and procedures.     
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resources function and make recommendations regarding policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees in areas of talent management, performance management, career/employee development, succession planning, employee engagement and retention, employee relations and reward and recognition.
  • Handle operational responsibilities while focusing on project/program development.   
  • Manager employee separations.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews.
  • Cultivate a positive and respectful work environment by developing strong relationships with internal and external customers. 


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years professional HR generalist experience required with deep knowledge of talent management practices.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills required.  
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service focus.
  • Capable of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while paying attention to details and timelines.   
  • Drive to deliver results; take accountability and ownership of work through process improvement initiatives. 
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to coach employees and middle management through complex issues.
  • Desire to research and analyze data and information.    
  • This position involves frequent contact with customers inside and outside the company requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, discretion, confidentiality and a working knowledge of human resources policies and procedures.


Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
