About the Organization

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is the national association for regulatory agencies for nursing. NCSBN assists and supports boards of nursing to act together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety, and regulation. This includes the development of national nurse licensing examinations. Currently we are seeking a Test Development Manager for our Examinations Department.

 

About the Job

Position manages the content of all NCSBN examinations through the direction and supervision of test development staff and volunteers.  Oversees operational aspects of test content development and vendor relationships.  Manages job activities of the Content team.  Ensures NCSBN examinations content is current, accurate, and legally-defensible.  Manages the development of new content for NCSBN examinations (e.g., test plans and test items).  Provides mentorship and directs Content staff professional development activities.  Staffs items development subject matter expert panels and ensures panel compositions are appropriate.  Serves as test development liaison to the NCLEX Examination Committee.  Publicly speaks and publishes articles related to NCSBN examinations.  Provides input for item development related policies and procedures.  Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Masters degree required, PhD preferred with a minimum of five years test development, project management, and staff management experience; or equivalent among of training and experience is required.  Strong leadership, presentation, organizational, problem-solving, communication and customer service expertise with great attention to details and deadlines required.  Flexibility, team player mentality and ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.  Technical expertise must include MS Office.
