The Business

Our Organizational Surveys and Insights practice designs and administers employee surveys and analyzes workforce data to help clients gain practical and actionable insights on improving employee engagement, shaping a high-performance culture and achieving optimal returns on talent investments.

We survey an entire employee population, or key segments, on an ongoing or one-off basis, to monitor changes and trends in employee views or to inform decisions about program design or communication in conjunction with one or more change initiatives.

The Role

As a Consultant you would work with a team of Analysts and Senior Consultants in employee research and more broadly with talent practitioners across Towers Watson’s Talent & Reward business segment. You would be responsible for leading survey project delivery teams and contributing to new business development. We always deliver and sell in teams. In sales, at times you would lead pursuits and at others you would be a contributing member on a larger team. Proportionally, the role involves approximately 50% of time spent on business development and 50% spent on management of survey projects.

Role may be out of either our Dallas, Texas or Southern California offices.

Performance Objectives:


  • Contribute toward successfully managing project teams to drive client satisfaction and retention directly through high-quality, on-time, high-value service
  • Expand client relationships and contribute to building trusted advisor status with key client contacts in terms of survey process deliverables
  • Actively contribute to the development of new intellectual capital and selling of innovative products and services
  • Be an active member of a team of consultants and develop junior associates
  • Work effectively with internal TW stakeholders to go to market and deliver integrated talent solutions


  • Contribute to and lead sales efforts and achieve a specific revenue target
  • Maintain existing client relationships and introduce new clients to the firm in order to meet annual revenue goal
  • Leverage new and existing client relationships by identifying opportunities for other Towers Watson lines of business
  • Manage projects to approved budget and profitability estimates and liaise effectively with project teams to stay on track


  • Ensure high quality is maintained on all projects by ensuring all team members comply with internal quality assurance steps
  • Proactively identify project risk areas, sharing with internal project team and developing contingency plans
  • Contribute to broader practice efforts to ensure operational efficiency and knowledge sharing

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in project management and sales/business development in a consulting environment
  • Ability to draw on a combination of advanced analytics and leading-edge technology to assist in interpreting results
  • Experience as a social science practitioner, including in areas such as employee engagement, leadership alignment and performance, rewards optimization, culture alignment, workforce well-being, and safety culture.
  • Track record of success in building and maintaining client relationships on large projects
  • Experience in managing multiple people and projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges
  • Willingness to travel 20% - 30% of the time
  • A post-graduate degree (i.e., Masters, PhD) in the social/behavioral sciences.
