Dr. Vicki Flaherty has spent her career helping people bring their best to their work and collaborating with clients to develop talent management solutions that drive business transformation. She currently manages IBM’s Cloud Computing Enterprise Learning portfolio within IBM’s HR/Talent organization. In her 15 years with IBM, she has led variety of talent programs in the areas of on-boarding, leadership development, coaching, mentoring, and career development. She participated in IBM’s prestigious Corporate Service Corps program, providing strategic planning and promoting R&D in an emerging market. She was part of the IBM research team that developed IBM’s current leadership competency model and has won awards for her global career framework development and new hire on-boarding design projects. She is the author of a Leading With Intention blog and frequently speaks about ways to create personal and professional success.

Abstract: IBM’s Corporate Service Corps will be examined as a model for creating formal employee leadership development experiences that address critical business challenges in a strategically aligned way. Diverse teams grow their leadership competencies by working on projects that grow healthy businesses and communities in emerging markets. Discussion of key program design elements such as volunteer participant preparation and outcomes will be encouraged.
