Brad Borland

Brad Borland is Vice President of Global Talent Management and Leadership Development at Kelly Services Inc., (NASDAQ: KELYA, KELYB). Kelly® is a leader in providing workforce solutions headquartered in Troy, Mich.

Mr. Borland is a lifelong learner and practitioner in the areas of human and organization development. He has a deep curiosity and interest in topics that include appreciative inquiry, experience-based leadership development, and client-driven organization change.

In his current role, Mr. Borland is responsible for senior leadership development systems and practices, succession planning, executive coaching, and organization development. He originally joined Kelly Services in 1995 as Human Resources Development Manager and returned to Kelly in 2007 as Director of Leadership Development.  He was promoted to his current position in 2013.

Mr. Borland has worked in industries and organizations that include: higher education, healthcare, and information solutions. He is a contributing author in “Using Experience to Drive Leadership Talent: How Organizations Leverage On-The-Job Development” and “Experience-Driven Leader Development: Models, Tools, Best Practices And Advice for On-The-Job Development.” He earned a Bachelor of Science from Ohio Northern University and a Master of Arts from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Presentation: Developing Future Senior Leaders: Aligning Competencies, Relationships and Experience

Abstract: The “Senior Leader Success Factors” framework combined aspiration, performance, competencies, relationships and experience. It was created to drive pool selection and individual leader development. This presentation will describe how the framework is being used to plan and execute enhanced succession via future-focused, leader development.
