Niloofar Ghods, PhD

Dr. Niloofar Ghods is an experienced consultant and executive coach with deep expertise on building and cultivating executive talent that directly aligns with business strategy. She is an internationally recognized expert and author on virtual coaching and effectiveness and conducts research and speaks at professional speaking engagements on the topic. Her recent publication was authorship of the distance coaching chapter in Wiley-Blackwell’s Handbook of Coaching and Mentoring Psychology. In her current role, her and her team manage Cisco’s Executive Talent Portfolio including the selection, promotion and development of executive’s in role and in pipeline for top 500 executive roles. These include conducting executive assessments, executive coaching, managing team process for executive teams and leading succession management efforts for top 50 executive roles. She also co-leads Cisco’s Coaching practice.

Prior to Cisco, Niloofar consulted for YSC, assessing and coaching senior executives of Fortune 100 multinational organizations in US, London, and South Africa. Prior to YSC, Niloofar worked at Dell in their Global Talent Management Team responsible for designing and delivering integrated talent management processes and programs for 100K employees globally. Niloofar also worked closely with world renowned leadership expert Marshall Goldsmith as well as Right Management Consultancy.

Niloofar has her doctoral degree in both Industrial Organizational and Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Irvine. Her Dissertation research evaluated a large-scale distance coaching program that was awarded funding by the Foundation of Coaching as well as presented at the Conference Board and the Society of Consulting Psychology’s mid-winter conference. Niloofar is an active affiliate of The Institute of Coaching at Harvard Medical School and member of the Leadership Council of the Society of Consulting Psychology. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society of Consulting Psychology and Industrial Organizational psychology. She has lived in London, Iran, Hong Kong, and South Africa and speaks fluent Farsi.
