There are more than 6,500 members of SIOP. All full Members of SIOP are PhD degree holders and retain positions in top academic institutions and leading businesses across the United States and world. The average income for I-O psychologists is $118,213. Not only do individual members have great purchasing power, but they are key decision makers and influencers for product and service decisions. Academic members are in business schools and psychology departments and include deans, department chairs, professors, and others. Nonacademic members include vice presidents and other high level positions in Fortune 100 companies filling roles in talent management and human resources. Many members own small consulting businesses while others work for consulting companies with an international scope. Still others work in military and government settings.
