Goal One. Reconstitute the committee membership with at least three new members.
Status: Working on this goal
Goal Two. Continue to review and update website information, including links to state and provincial boards.
Goal Three: Provide referrals and information to members/student affiliates seeking licensure.
Status: Confer with an average of three members/students per month.
Note that we have had a number of requests for information from students who are attending on line Ph.D. or Psy.D. programs and who want to sit for their license. As of today, states require one year of residency at the degree granting institution.
Goal Four: Continue to scan the environment in relation to license requirements and issues.
Status: Ongoing. Coordinate with the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Board in this area.
Goal Five: Continue to collect sunset information on licensing laws for all state and provinces.
Goal Six: Communicate state developments and licensure issues to members. This will be covered in the next TIP article.
Goal Seven: Participate in Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards annual meeting to continue to keep them aware of the needs of I/O psychologists.
Status: Participated in the May meeting in Seattle.
Action Item: We suggest that Greg attend the ASPPB annual meeting in Savannah in the fall and that that Joan, Ed, and/or Adrienne also attend.
Goal Eight: Establish a liaison with the graduate student organization to make licensing information readily available to graduate students
Status: Working on this. I am in contact with Dr. Ghoroury, Associate Executive Director, APA Grad Students Association to determine how best to do this.
Goal Nine: Increase the dialogue with ASPPB with respect to their Model Licensing Act.
Status: Ongoing. There have been multiple informal conversations with ASPPB leadership. This will be addressed in the next TIP article.
Goal Ten: Encourage the president of SIOP to participate in an ASPPB meeting.
Goal Eleven: Write one article for TIP. Topic to be determined later this year.
