What is I-O?

Industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology is the scientific study of the workplace. Rigor and methods of psychology are applied to issues of critical relevance to business, including talent management, coaching, assessment, selection, training, organizational development, performance, and work-life balance.

CEMA Committee Goals

1.  SIOP Fellow Nominations

• To continue to work with members to identify and nominate qualified ethnic minority candidates for SIOP Fellow

2.  Student Support & Awareness

• To raise the awareness of CEMA to current students through various media channels and efforts of outreach
• To raise the awareness of the I/O Profession to ethnic minority undergraduates

3.  CEMA Best Paper Award Fundraising

• To begin the process of raising the required funds to support the Best Paper Award

4.  SIOP 2010 in Atlanta

• To continue to plan events that allow ethnic minority members to meet and exchange ideas while leveraging the conference
• To host an event that celebrates ethnic minorities at the Atlanta Conference
• CEMA business planning and awareness
• To continue the prominence of the CEMA Reception
• To work with the SIOP Program chair to create symposia and panels that support diversity research
