1. Visible and trusted authority on work-related psychology.
 
AWARDS COMMITTEE GOAL: Once award nominations are received and evaluated, provide descriptions of the scholarly and applied contributions to the Visibility Committee Chair and SIOP publicist. Discuss with each the importance of the contributions and how they have affected organizations and people.
 
2. Advocate and champion of I-O psychology to policy makers.
 
AWARDS COMMITTEE GOAL: Once award nominations are received and evaluated, provide descriptions of the scholarly and applied contributions to the Advocacy Committee Chair and Paula Skedsvold of the Federation of Associations of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (FABBS). FABBS mission is to a) increase federal funding for research; b) monitor and influence policy and legislation affecting the welfare of people; and c) increase awareness of the value of contributions of the behavioral sciences, especially psychology. Discuss with her the importance of the contributions and their relevance to current issues and events.
 
3. Organization of choice of I-O professionals.
 
AWARDS COMMITTEE GOALS: Increase SIOP prestige by ensuring that exceptional candidates are nominated for all SIOP awards. Respond to inquiries in a timely way. Inform nominees of outcomes in a timely way. Once award nominations are received and evaluated, provide names of winners and their contributions to Clif so that he can inform the institutions where the recipients are employed, local newspapers, internet sites, and other outlets thereby increasing public recognition and pride for each award winner. 
 
4. Model of integrated scientist-practitioner effectiveness that values research, practice, and education equally and seeks higher standards in all three areas.
