TIP Annual Report

2005-2006 Accomplishments 

1.      Promoted awareness of international issues in the Society.  (in progress)

2.      Incorporated international perspectives in existing columns. (in progress)

3.      Reviewed current structure and format of TIP to identify areas of improvement and possible editorial changes.  The TIP Editorial Board hosted a roundtable discussion at the conference to gather input from SIOP members. (completed)

4.      Will host a TIP-Topics roundtable discussion at the 2006 conference to gather input from students.  (in progress and completed)

5.      Continued the excellence and quality established by predecessors.  (in progress)

6.      Featured the annual SIOP Conference in the July 2005 issue and plan to do so in the July 2006 issue.  (completed and in progress)

7.      Included questions on the SIOP member survey about TIP, and will review them for ideas and suggestions to improve the quality of the issues.  (completed and in progress)

8.      Added a new column that will highlight research studies relevant to both practitioners and academic researchers.  (completed)

9.      Revised budget for 2006-2007. (completed)

10.  Added David Pollack to the editorial board.  He has created the list of meetings and conferences since the early 1990s. 

2006-2007 Goals

1.      To feature the annual conference in the July issue.  All column editors have been asked to include highlights from the conference.  In addition, SIOP award winners have been invited to submit essays on their conference presentation topics.  (in progress)

2.      To review the I-O Ethicist column to determine its future existence in TIP.  (in progress)

3.      To cultivate an international community and promote awareness of international issues in the Society.  (in progress)

4.      To address anticipated changes in columns due to voluntary retirements from the editorial board. (in progress)

5.      To incorporate international perspectives in existing columns. (in progress)

6.      Review current structure and format of TIP to identify areas of improvement and possible editorial changes.  (in progress)

7.      Continue the excellence and quality established by predecessors.  (in progress)

8.      Identify additional goals through gathering input from members and the editorial board members.  (in progress.)

9.      Collaborated with a newly appointed successor for TIP editor to insure a seamless transition after April 2007.
