IOP Now Accepting Commentaries for 2.4
The first focal article for Volume 2, Issue 4 of SIOP’s journal, Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice, is now available for viewing and commentaries on the SIOP Web site here. The second focal article will be posted Monday, June 1, 2009.
Deadline for commentary: July 1, 2009
The topic of the first focal article is “Content Validation Is Useful for Many Things, but Validity Isn’t One of Them” by Kevin R. Murphy, Pennsylvania State University. The article discusses how content-oriented validation strategies establish the validity of selection tests as predictors of performance by comparing the content of the tests to the content of the job but that these comparisons turn out to have little if any bearing on the predictive validity of selection tests.
The second focal article is by Rob Silzer and Allan Church called "Understanding and Identifying Potential.” This article can be accessed beginning June 1 on the journal's homepage here.
