Gary Latham Receives APS Award

SIOP Fellow and Past-President Gary P. Latham has recently been awarded the James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award from the Association for Psychological Science (APS).

The award recognizes APS members for a lifetime of outstanding contributions to the area of applied psychological research. Recipients must be APS members whose research addresses a critical problem in society at large. Honorees are recognized annually at the APS convention.

Latham, the Secretary of State Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, was commended in the award citation for exemplifying the scientist-practitioner model as well as for the impact of his research, which has been cited more than 4,000 times. His work with SIOP Fellow Edwin A. Locke, a previous recipient of the James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award, was noted in particular as well as his contributions to science and practice independent of Locke, including his work with his graduate students.
