LEC CE Credit Opportunities Announced
SIOP is pleased to announce that at "The Virtual Workforce: Designing, Leading, and Optimizing,” SIOP’s 7th annual Leading Edge Consortium, attendees will be eligible for 8 general recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
This is in addition to the 10 CE credits for psychologists (those needing CE for licensure, professional development, liability insurance, or other purposes) available to eligible attendees.* For more information on CE credits, visit the LEC CE Page.
This year’s LEC will take place October 14-15 at the historic Seelbach Hilton. The event will cover a wide range of issues, including presentations on social business, people analytics, virtual collaboration, unified talent management, managing global teams virtually, telecommuting, technology for an aging workforce, enterprise 2.0, advancements in training, and best practices in developing and implementing technology–enhanced assessment. Courtney Hunt (founder of the Social Media in Organizations [SMinOrgs] Community) and Wayne Cascio will serve as keynote speakers.

Fellows Nominations Now Open
The Fellow Status nomination process is now online and ready for use. November 1, 2011 is the deadline for nomination of SIOP Fellows. Nominators must be Members of SIOP, but not necessarily Fellows.
Nominees for Fellow Status must:
• Be SIOP Members or International Affiliates for no less than 2 years at the time of election
• Have received their PhD at least 10 years previously, and
• Have made unusual and outstanding contributions to I-O psychology.
SIOP Fellows can come from all I-O areas and from all employment settings. APA (and SIOP) recognizes several bases for Fellowship: Research, Teaching, Administration, Professional Service, and Practice. The common criterion in every case is demonstrated outstanding contribution. Fellowship is recognition by one’s peers of that contribution; Fellow nominees must be endorsed by at least 3 SIOP Fellows. Members do not nominate themselves; they must be nominated by another SIOP Member or Fellow who coordinates the submission of the required nomination materials on the Fellow Status Online Nomination Tool.
The Fellowship Committee reviews all candidates and makes its recommendations to the SIOP Executive Committee. New Fellows will be announced at the 2012 SIOP Conference in San Diego.
Detailed procedures for nominating SIOP Fellows, and for APA and APS Fellowship, are available on the SIOP Web site. For additional information or clarification, feel free to contact Fellows Chair Wally Borman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
