SIOP’s 27th Annual Conference is just around the corner. Will you be joining us in sunny San Diego? This year’s annual conference will take place April 26-28 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. If you haven’t registered yet, sign up today! If you are already registered and would like to add to your registration, you can do so at the Attendee Service Center.
The highlight of any SIOP conference is its impressive and varied program. This year’s list of sessions and speakers is an impressive one. Notable program features include:
You can easily search all of this year’s sessions with our Searchable Program and Scheduler. Search by topic, title, presenter information, or time, and then add them to your personal schedule to be accessed at the conference through the personal scheduler or the Conference Mobile Planner. The mobile planner is a mobile conference website designed to be viewed on your BlackBerry, iPhone or Android, featuring a searchable program, personal schedule, hotel details, and other information. You can access the mobile planner at m.conference.siop.org or scan this code with your phone:

Finding just the right job or employee can be a difficult, time-consuming process, but SIOP’s Placement Center helps take some of the legwork out of the process by providing employers and job seekers a convenient way to connect at the annual conference. Placement Center will be open at the 27th Annual Conference, April 26-28. Employers and job seekers can sign up for Placement Center during regular registration. Those already registered for the conference can still sign up through the Attendee Service Center.
Closing on a High Note
The conference will also close with an impressive keynote speaker and closing reception!
Bandura Closing Keynote-SIOP is honored to welcome this year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Albert Bandura. Although Dr. Bandura needs no introduction, he is widely considered one of the most influential psychologists in the world. Dr. Bandura is the David Starr Jordan Professor of Social Science in Psychology (Emeritus) at Stanford University, where he has been since joining the faculty in 1953. Dr. Bandura has received dozens of honorary degrees and awards throughout his career, including many lifetime achievement awards, and has changed the face of psychology through his seminal work on social learning theory, social cognitive theory, and self-efficacy. Needless to say, you will not want to miss the thrill of Dr. Bandura addressing our society. Closing Reception-Celebrate the end of a successful conference San Diego-style! The closing reception will be a beach-themed party, fitting for an April night in southern California. All are welcome and encouraged to join us in sending this conference out on a high note!

Need Mentoring? Come to the Third Annual SIOP Practitioner Speed Mentoring Event! SIOP welcomes all interested practitioners to join in discussions with an accomplished panel of mentors at the third annual Speed Mentoring event, to be held at SIOP’s 27th Annual Conference! To participate in this event, you must be a SIOP Member (Associate, Professional, or International) or Fellow engaged in professional activities.
About Speed Mentoring
The Speed Mentoring Event will begin with an overview of the SIOP Practitioner Mentoring Program and introductions of the mentors participating in the session. Practitioners will then have the opportunity to participate in two 25-minute roundtable topic-driven discussions guided by seasoned mentors. This event is a terrific opportunity for practitioners to seek guidance and wisdom from experienced mentors who have “been there and done that.” How to Participate
We have limited space for this event and openings are almost full, so please reserve your space by sending an email to Mentoring@siop.org with your NAME, EMPLOYER/ORGANIZATION, and TOP FOUR (4) TOPICS of interest, in rank order. We will reserve a maximum of seven (7) participants for each topic and you will receive confirmation of your participation. To see the complete list of topics, click here.
Want to make your voice heard on matters that can increase the visibility, use, and reputation of I-O psychological science among major scientific organizations and policymakers? The Scientific Affairs and External Relations committees are pleased to co-sponsor a science advocacy training session at the SIOP conference. The session will be held Friday, April 27 at 3:30 in Betsy BC. We hope to see you there!
Attention SIOP Conference attendees and Fun Run registrants! The annual SIOP Frank Landy 5K Fun Run has been switched to Friday, April 27, instead of Saturday, April 28, due to a problem with our venue. The race will now take place on Friday, but all other details remain the same.
The race course, just a short walk from the Manchester Grand Hyatt (the conference headquarters hotel), will take you through beautiful Seaport Village along San Diego’s embarcadero. Participants will meet in the lobby of the hotel at 6:15 on Friday and walk to the starting line for a 7:00 am start.
The race fee is $25, which includes a t-shirt. You can register online as you register for the conference. You can register at the conference, but it would help greatly with race planning (and t-shirt ordering) if you registered in advance.
For those already registered for the Fun Run who cannot participate on Friday, you can contact Director of Administrative Services Linda Lentz firstname.lastname@example.org to request a refund.
