The Launching of IOINTERN into Cyberspace

The Graduate Program in Applied Psychology at the University of
Baltimore would like to announce a new Internet resource to the I/O Psychology community
on the information superhighway. IOINTERN was developed as a way of helping I/O students
who are on local or remote internship assignments to share ideas and internship
experiences (good ones and not-so-good ones), ask questions, and network with other
interns, faculty, and HR practitioners (usually graduates of the program). Often, an
internship can be a lonely world for a graduate student placed in a "real world"
environment, in which "I/O" is a computer term. It is designed to be a public
forum in a broader sense than just the intern and his/her supervisor. Subscribers are
encouraged to post their inquiries on IOINTERN, and summarize the replies on IOINTERN.
In addition, students who are involved in their master's theses and
doctoral dissertations are also encouraged to post questions and bounce ideas off of other
subscribers, particularly where they are relevant to his/her internship. The exchange of
ideas among colleagues around the globe will provide diverse perspectives on many issues.
This LISTSERV is moderated by a University of Baltimore faculty member
to ensure that everyone behaves themselves.
