Welcome to the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology!

The Society’s mission is to enhance human well-being and performance in organizational and work settings by promoting the science, practice, and teaching of industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology.  Our nearly 8,000 professional and student members work in academia, the military, consulting, and the business world.

Industrial-Organizational psychologists work with organizations in many areas that affect individual, team, and organization performance and productivity.  For example, I-O psychologists are experts in developing systems and tools for hiring, motivating, training, and understanding people at work. They develop tests, promotion systems, and surveys. They also engage in coaching, team building, survey analysis, job analysis, organization design, and much more!

  • Leading Edge Consortium –SIOP's fall conference, the Leading Edge Consortium is a two-day, intensive meeting of the leading professionals in industrial-organizational psychology, business, and HR.  The topic of the 2013 LEC is “Building Future Leaders:  Innovations and Trends in Talent Management.”  The 2013 LEC will be held October 18-19 at the Omni Richmond Hotel in Richmond, Virginia.
