Upgrading from Student Affiliate to Professional Member Status (Member, Associate Member, or International Affiliate)
Have you recently graduated with your doctorate or masters degree? Congratulations!
Student Affiliates are strongly encouraged to upgrade their SIOP membership to Member, Associate, or International Affiliate status soon after graduation. To determine which status is right for you, please review the SIOP membership requirements at http://www.siop.org/joinsiop.aspx.
Student Affiliates who submit an upgrade application will continue to enjoy SIOP membership benefits while the application is being reviewed, regardless of if a dues deadline is missed during the process. Professional dues of $60 are collected upon approval of the upgrade application.
If you have graduated within the past 12 months, there is a grace period for upgrading and you may choose to renew your membership at the student level one additional time. But during the following renewal period, you would need to upgrade to professional status to remain eligible for SIOP membership.
