December Conversation Series: Benjamin Schneider

Save the date for the sixth SIOP Conversation Series event of 2022. December’s event will feature Benjamin Schneider, who will talk about science for making workplaces more attractive to top talent.

Talent attraction and retention in a candidate-driven market was the #4 Top 10 Work Trends 2022. This trend discusses how, as the fight for talent becomes more and more difficult, organizations are rethinking their selection processes, onboarding, and long-term employee development to ensure the right people are brought in and are fulfilled in their role. What factors are driving candidates to leave their employers, and what is attracting them the most to new organizations? I-O psychologists can uncover contemporary reasons that attract talent; identify values that are the most important at the moment in attracting and retaining talent; and develop responses, activities, or practices of employees in the retention of these employees.

Schneider is currently professor emeritus of Psychology at the University of Maryland and affiliate research scientist at the Center for Effective Organizations, the University of Southern California. Join our conversation from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. ET on December 1 on these channels:

Organized by the SIOP Electronic Communication Committee, the SIOP Conversation Series features thought leaders in academia and industry in an “Ask Me Anything” style conversation about their work and I-O-related topics. Listeners will have the opportunity to ask real-time questions and interact with the speaker.
