About the Job

The Learning and Development Team Leader will provide oversight for professional development projects in support of the New Yor Fed's Financial Institution Supervision Group's framework for supervision.


The selected individual will lead a small team responsible for managing projects and providing consulting services to business leaders to optimize execution of learning programs and processes.


Responsibilities include:

  • Consulting with business area staff at all levels to understand business challenges and translate them into effective programs and practices
  • Developing, implementing, and facilitating learning events
  • Measuring learning effectiveness
  • Syndicating products and services with clients and HR partners
  • Linking learning opportunities with on-the-job experiences.

Oversee operational processes, including but not limited to

  • Ensuring compliance with programs and projects required by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of existing processes
  • Developing and implementing process improvements
  • Identifying desired outcomes and building new processes in support of the FISG framework for supervision and/or the national business line.



Manage staff

  • Set business goals and expectations for quality standards
  • Delegate and monitor assignments, providing constructive and timely feedback and
  • coaching to ensure deliverables are completed on time and on budget
  • Develop staff skills related to the learning and development field.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working in the areas of learning, talent management, organizational effectiveness; ideally will have experience in a business function outside of HR.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills and knowledge of learning theory and design to ensure business requirements are translated into learning solutions
  • Experience managing a team of analysts to meet business goals and providing oversight for their growth and development
  • Proven project management and implementation skills to ensure programs are delivered on-time, on-budget, and with minimal delivery problems
  • Experience sourcing and managing multiple learning vendors to ensure business strategy and talent management practices are consistently reflected across product offerings
  • Strong written and verbal skills to gain commitment on goals and convey information to senior leaders, program participants, and HR Business Partners
  • Ability to independently manage products and services in support of the business framework as well as optimize the execution of multiple curricula
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to analyze, synthesize, and create a business case based on training data and trends
  • Undergraduate degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent experience a plus.
