Registration Open for 34th Annual SIOP Conference

Registration is now open for the world’s largest gathering of I-O psychology researchers and practitioners. No other conference offers as many learning, professional development, and networking opportunities as the annual SIOP Conference.

The 34th annual event, April 4-6, 2019 at the beautiful and spacious Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, offers hundreds of sessions and poster presentations on the full range of I-O psychology subjects.

This year’s theme track, “Advancing Science Practice Translations,” will help create smarter workplaces by drawing connections between theory, research, and practice.

Connect With Colleagues and Thought Leaders

The Conference Committee has just announced the exciting news that Megan Smith, Chief Technology Officer of the United States during the Obama administration, has agreed to provide the closing plenary keynote.

After completing her government service, Smith founded and is now CEO of Shift7, an organization that collaborates with a broad range of other organizations to leverage technology and innovation in tackling society’s hardest challenges.  Learn more about Shift7 here.

The SIOP Conference offers attendees the opportunity to learn from and network with leaders from all areas of I-O psychology.  It’s possible to earn from thought leaders in sessions then socialize with them at the early morning Frank Landy 5K Fun Run or during evening receptions. Conference partners and exhibitors will also be showcasing the latest products on the convention floor on Thursday and Friday.  See an overview of the conference schedule here.

Additional Learning and Networking Opportunities

The 4-hour Preconference Workshops, held on April 3, offer in-depth learning on foundational and timely topics. Add one or two to your registration for even more professional development. Benefits include small group networking opportunities and continuing education credits for many sessions.

The Preconference Consortia, also on April 3, provide a full day of well-rounded, comprehensive informational sessions and networking opportunities with experts and colleagues for those just embarking on their professional journey, as an early-career practitioner, junior faculty member, or master’s or doctoral student.

The 3-hour Friday Seminar sessions, scheduled throughout the day on April 5, also offer CE credits and intensive, small-group learning experiences on a range of timely topics, from ethics to science-practice translation, AI, and cyberscecurity.

Collective Wisdom and Comprehensive Value

With approximately 800 individual presentations, the SIOP Conference offers attendees everything from basic, foundational knowledge and skill building to the latest information in the field. There are sessions on research methods and findings, I-O practice topics, communicating the value of your work, translating I-O findings for social issues, and so much more.

All the collected knowledge is available for an incredibly reasonable registration fee. Why? The SIOP Conference is a community effort, where members share their work for the benefit of all. Attending #SIOP19 is much more cost effective and time efficient than participating in multiple seminars or webinars. Register today to be a part of it all.

Connecting the Dots

The SIOP Conference Opportunity Toolkit provides templates and information to help convey the value of attending the conference to organizational decision makers. You can use to help your boss say “yes!” to your request for funding to attend the largest annual gathering of I-O psychologists.

The spacious Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center has a special room rate for SIOP attendees. Find more information about the Gaylord  here.

Those who register now can save as much as 25% on their conference attendance fees. The early registration deadline is February 20, 2019.
