Your Input Needed for SIOP’s Annual Top 10 Work Trends List

2020 has been anything but a typical year; yet the themes predicted in SIOP’s annual Top 10 Workplace Trends list remained at the forefront as organizations navigated unprecedented times.

As a SIOP member and work expert, you play an important role in helping SIOP identify next year’s big work trends, and increasing awareness and knowledge of the role I-Os play in solving critical business challenges.

Yesterday you should have received an email from the SIOP Visibility Committee containing a link to the first part of our 2021 Top 10 Work Trends Survey, which is open for SIOP member input between October 27 and November 9.

When this survey closes, the Visibility Committee will organize input into themes, then administer the second part of our survey to identify which themes are of greatest importance. The unveiling of the 2021 Top Work Trends List and related resources will take place on the SIOP website in mid-January 2021.

You may have noticed a small but meaningful rebranding in the title of our survey, which was referred to as Top “Workplace” Trends in prior years. Because I-Os provide expertise in workplace, workforce, and other kinds of work-related matters, we’ve retitled the survey to the more encompassing word, “work.”

Like prior years, we expect this list to generate significant media interest. Your participation in the survey process will help ensure the outcomes are representative of our collective expertise.

For your reference, prior years’ Top Ten Trends lists can be found here. If you have questions or comments on the 2021 process or did not receive the survey link, please email visibility@siop.org.
