SIOP Committee Seeks Members Willing to Participate in Science Advocacy Activities
You may have heard of one of SIOP’s newest committees: Government Relations Advocacy Team (GREAT). This committee has been working with DC-based government relations firm Lewis-Burke to assist with SIOP’s science advocacy efforts for the past several months (read an article here).
We’re off to a great start, but need participation from as many SIOP members as possible to really make an impact. If you are interested in helping, we ask that you complete a short survey to let us know how you can help.
With your responses, we will create a database of SIOP members willing to participate in various science advocacy activities across the country. This database will allow for quick “staffing” of just-in-time opportunities related to science advocacy that will benefit SIOP. Some examples of opportunities include meeting with your local Congressperson or serving on Federal Advisory Boards.
The survey is quick and easy – you’ll see a list of activities and be asked to indicate which you’ve done and/or would be willing to do. It should take only 10-15 minutes to complete. We suggest you take a few moments to complete the survey now. We’ll keep the survey open until July 31, 2014.
Thank you in advance for your participation!
