The SIOP Annual Conference has long facilitated the sharing of knowledge and new ideas. To build on that tradition, we are now offering Research Community Forums, a new opportunity for individuals with similar interests to connect and experience meaningful research collaboration.
Three forums will be held the afternoon of Wednesday, April 2, prior to the official start of the SIOP Annual Conference. They will consist of a mix of invited content (e.g., talks or posters identified via the submission process below) and networking/brainstorming activities to generate future research ideas and collaborations.
New Directions for DEI in the Workplace
This forum aims to build a community of collaborators focused on producing meaningful theoretical insights and practical recommendations regarding diversity management, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Participants from both science and practice who are actively engaged in diversity, equity, and inclusion work from a variety of different backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged to attend. The forum will contain a mix of presentations, networking, and brainstorming activities.

AI Applied to Selection
The goal of this forum is to promote discussion and incubate new ideas among AI researchers who are interested in addressing and highlighting challenges related to implementing AI (e.g., LLMs, NLP, Computer vision) in employee selection, including selecting candidates, ensuring fairness, generating assessments, and candidates automatically completing interviews with AI, as well as novel issues not yet discussed. The forum will contain a mix of presentations, networking activities, and posters. All SIOP members are welcome to attend!

If you are interested in submitting a poster or short talk to be considered for the invited content section of one of these forums, you may submit a topic via the conference submission portal. After logging into the portal, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the homepage (below the FAQs section) to find the “Wednesday RESEARCH COMMUNITY FORUMS” section where you can click on the forum into which you would like to submit. The same poster or talk may be submitted and presented at both the regular conference and a Research Community Forum; however, if you want to be considered to present at both the regular conference and Research Community Forum, you must submit to both.

Note that submissions to the Research Community Forums DO NOT count toward the Rule of Three (i.e., an individual may be included on up to three regular conference submissions and also submit to present at one of the Forums).
