19th Frank Landy 5K Fun Run
Come join event organizers Paul and Pat Sackett for the Frank Landy 5K Fun Run, to be held at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. The conference hotel overlooks Grant Park and Lake Michigan, and we’ll run a course along the lake shore with the start/finish line an easy walk from the hotel. This will make it easy to get back quickly for morning conference sessions.
The event has a new name this year in memory of our good friend Frank Landy. In addition to all his contributions to the science and practice of I-O psychology, Frank was a dedicated, enthusiastic, and competitive distance runner. He was a founder of the SIOP 5K and directed the event in its early years. So it’s most fitting that we salute him as we gather bright and early for our run.
The race fee is $25, which includes a t-shirt. You can register online as you register for the conference. You can register at the conference, but it would help greatly with race planning (and t-shirt ordering) if you registered in advance.
You’ll see your name in TIP if you finish in the top three in your age/gender group (under 40; 40–49; 50–59; 60 and up). And please enter the team competition. We’ll have 3 two-person team categories (advisor–advisee, mixed-doubles (M-F), and scientist–practitioner), and a 4-person university or organization team category.
If you wish to enter the team competition, please send an e-mail to Paul Sackett indicating which category you wish to enter and listing the members of your team.
Please contact Paul Sackett at the University of Minnesota (email@example.com; 612-624-9842) with any questions.
