Mark began his career in 1991 at a national, full-service investment firm where he held various positions in their Managed Accounts Services department. In 1994, he first joined UBS’ Investment Consulting Services department and worked with the firm’s PRIME financial advisors to assist in growing their institutional consulting business. In 1995, he was promoted to the divisional managed accounts consultant (DMAC) position in the Central Division, and in 1998, he became the manager of a UBS branch office.
From 2000 to 2001, Mark served as a managing director of a San Francisco-based asset management firm. He rejoined UBS in September of 2001 as a senior wealth management consultant in the Central Division. In 2004, he became the national sales manager for Wealth Management Services where he led the team of wealth management consultants and wealth management analysts in advancing the firm’s transition to a wealth management business.
In 2006, Mark began building a unique, internal coaching program within the financial services industry. Coaches were organized on six teams located throughout the country. The coaching teams worked with regional and branch management to deliver intensive, personalized, one-on-one coaching to select financial advisors to drive substantial and sustainable business growth. Since its inception, the coaching program has been expanded to include a total of 53 coaches and the addition of coaching for branch managers and other executives within the organization.
Most recently, Mark served as the deputy head of National Sales where he managed approximately 40 individuals across seven different businesses responsible for promoting many of UBS’ strategic initiatives. Mark left UBS in October of 2008.
Mark has a BS in finance from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the Investment Management Consultant’s Association (IMCA). Mark earned IMCA’s designations of Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) in 1995 and Certified Investment Strategist (CIS) in 2002
