2009 LEC Learning Lab Session
During our 2009 Leading Edge Consortium, we will have a 1-hour learning lab session that will involve demonstrations of assessment tools, data management systems, recruiting activities, administrator/interviewer training tools, and so forth that have been successfully deployed across multiple countries. The Learning Lab is meant to be a forum for education and should not be confused with an exhibit hall where products are on display. Dispensing sales and promotional materials is not appropriate in this venue.
Presenters will be selected based on submissions that outline the learning objectives of the demonstration and fit with the consortium theme. Presentations will be structured according to specific guidelines, with time for Q&A, and participants will be able to move from demonstration to demonstration during the time slot. Note that you will be asked to do the demonstration three times to allow individuals to rotate among and view multiple demonstrations during the Learning Lab session. Presenters must be registered LEC attendees.
Examples of Learning Lab demonstrations might be walking participants through a Web-based self-selection fit assessment tool, showing portions of an interviewer training guide used to ensure global consistency across interviewers, showing example items from a video SJT that has been adapted for use in different cultures, or illustrating mechanisms for enhancing security of unproctored internet testing. Each presenter will be provided with a tabletop and internet access but must provide their own laptop/equipment.
