William K.  Redmon, Ph.D.

For the past 15 years, William K. Redmon has been Principal Vice President and Manager of Talent at Bechtel Corporation, an Engineering and Construction company with more than 55,000 employees globally. Bill is accountable for talent management strategy and processes including succession planning and talent pool management at all levels.  He works with the Bechtel Board of Directors,  CEO and Presidents of five global business units to identify, develop and deploy talent.  He also oversees executive coaching and development, performance management, and high performance team building. Prior to joining Bechtel, Bill consulted with numerous organizations in the private and public sectors to help refine their strategies and develop supporting performance and talent systems.  As consultant, he worked with manufacturing, retail, and service businesses to design and implement innovative methods in change leadership, quality control, performance management, and talent management.  Early in his career, Bill was a professor of organizational psychology designed and taught graduate courses in behavioral systems analysis, organizational change, metrics, and strategic planning.  He is a licensed psychologist and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association.

Presentation: Metrics-Driven Decision Making in Succession and Development

Abstract: This presentation will describe use of individual and group data to influence executive decision making and follow-up actions in both succession planning and accelerated development.   Special emphasis will be given to metrics on career trends relative to target, indicators of versatility, and drivers for movement of talent across organizations for development purposes.
