SHRM is an HR-focused society with 300,00+ members, with a purpose to elevate the HR profession. SHRM is likely to offer mostly HR-related content, with less scientific or data support than SIOP’s content. APA has 133,000+ members from all psychology fields, with a focus on promoting the advancement, communication, and application of psychological science and knowledge to benefit society and improve lives. APA is likely to offer a wide range of psychology research, much of which would be based in science, but less workplace-specific resources than SIOP’s offerings.

The main benefits of being an Affiliate member include:

No, Affiliates are unable to submit a session or chair session for the SIOP Annual Conference. They can participate in any other capacity for all session types.
