Keynote Speaker: Dr. Richard N. Landers, John P. Campbell Distinguished Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at the University of Minnesota

Richard N. Landers, Ph.D., is the John P. Campbell Distinguished Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at the University of Minnesota. His research concerns innovative technologies in psychometric assessment, employee selection, adult learning, and research methods, focusing recently on game-based assessment, gamification, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality. His work has been published in Journal of Applied Psychology, Computers in Human Behavior, and Psychological Methods, among others, and his work has been featured in popular outlets such as Forbes, Business Insider, and Popular Science. He co-hosts a YouTube Live show and podcast called The Great I-O Get-together and is President of Landers Workforce Science LLC which currently focuses on psychological audits of algorithmic systems used in hiring, promotion, training, and beyond. He is also a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, American Psychological Association, and Association for Psychological Science.

Activity: Skills Building Sessions - Learning sessions presented by the Skills & Resources Subcommittee (SIOP’s E&T Committee)

In this session, attendees will review tips for various ways to meaningfully engage in the field of I-O, from conferences to local I-O groups to social media communities. The SIOP annual conference as well as other SIOP website resources for engaging with the field will be introduced and described so as to provide attendees with additional insight into the benefits of pursuing these avenues. The goal of this workshop is to help attendees find ways to more deeply connect with the field based on their unique interests and experiences with I-O.
