Learning & Innovation Speaker Series

SIOP has partnered with the UN Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) to co-create a speaker series. This content provides UN human resources professionals with research, theory, and practices on I-O psychology topics.

Sustainable Development Goals Annotated Bibliographies

SIOP members from different graduate programs support the UN Committee by creating annotated bibliographies that summarize relevant research and practices for the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The bibliographies help members answer UN queries with evidence-based guidance.

Consulting

SIOP members provide consulting and guidance to different UN entities. Examples include:

  • Presenting research on best practices for using engagement surveys.
  • Sounding board discussions with UN Development Program (UNDP) representatives to provide guidance on ways to enhance the UNDP Rewards and Recognition Program.
  • Assisting the Psychology Coalition of the UN (PCUN) with team building and goal setting.
  • Helping the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific improve its performance management system and practices.
  • Revising leadership competencies and providing guidance on talent management activities for the United Nations Children’s Fund.

Outreach

The SIOP UN Committee writes and publishes regularly. Members often post updates in TIP and the IOP Journal. Additionally, the committee has produced resources to help interested graduate programs join the UN Global Compact. Lastly, the committee has written official statements on UN-related issues.
