Associate Criteria
SIOP Associates meet one of the following sets of criteria:
Criteria 1:
- Completion of a master’s degree in psychology
- Courses must be from a regionally accredited U.S. graduate school or one of equivalent standing if outside the U.S.
- Engaged in I-O psychology study or professional activities as stated in Article I, Section 2 of the Society’s Bylaws
- Present a current resume that includes:
- Most recent employment history
Criteria 2:
- Completion of at least 2 years of graduate work in psychology
- Courses must be from a regionally accredited U.S. graduate school or one of equivalent standing if outside the U.S.
- Engaged in I-O psychology study or professional activities as stated in Article I, Section 2 of the Society’s Bylaws
- Present a current resume that includes:
- Most recent employment history

Application Process
Click the Become a Member button to begin your Associate membership application
- Create a new account or login to SIOP.org
- On your Personal Snapshot, click Join Now under Membership.
- Provide required background information relevant to Society application purposes
- Select Professional membership type
- Provide required educational and career information relevant to Society application purposes
- Upload your current resume as an attachment
- You have an opportunity to purchase SIOP Research Gateway
- You are given the chance to donate to the SIOP Foundation
- Click Submit Application to proceed to checkout where you will be asked to pay current Associate dues
- Enter your payment information and billing address and Submit to complete the process
- After your application is submitted, an internal review process begins
This process involves both SIOP staff and the SIOP Membership Committee Application Subcommittee.
Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for review. During peak application periods, processing times may be longer.
