Associate Criteria

SIOP Associates meet one of the following sets of criteria:

Criteria 1: 

  • Completion of a master’s degree in psychology
    • Courses must be from a regionally accredited U.S. graduate school or one of equivalent standing if outside the U.S.
  • Engaged in I-O psychology study or professional activities as stated in Article I, Section 2 of the Society’s Bylaws
  • Present a current resume that includes:
    • Most recent employment history

Criteria 2:

  • Completion of at least 2 years of graduate work in psychology
    • Courses must be from a regionally accredited U.S. graduate school or one of equivalent standing if outside the U.S.
  • Engaged in I-O psychology study or professional activities as stated in Article I, Section 2 of the Society’s Bylaws
  • Present a current resume that includes:
    • Most recent employment history

Upgrading from Associate

SIOP Associates are eligible to upgrade to Members. Learn more about all membership upgrades.

Application Process

Click the Become a Member button to begin your Associate membership application

  • Create a new account or login to SIOP.org
  • On your Personal Snapshot, click Join Now under Membership.
  • Provide required background information relevant to Society application purposes
  • Select Professional membership type
  • Provide required educational and career information relevant to Society application purposes
  • Upload your current resume as an attachment
  • You have an opportunity to purchase SIOP Research Gateway
  • You are given the chance to donate to the SIOP Foundation
  • Click Submit Application to proceed to checkout where you will be asked to pay current Associate dues
  • Enter your payment information and billing address and Submit to complete the process
  • After your application is submitted, an internal review process begins

This process involves both SIOP staff and the SIOP Membership Committee Application Subcommittee.

Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for review. During peak application periods, processing times may be longer.
