Ben Hawkes is the Director of TAPnet, a global network of in-house leaders in talent, assessment, and AI for HR, which he co-founded in 2017. Its members represent over sixty Fortune 500 and other large organisations.
He is also co-founder of The Hiring Science Studio, an independent advisory practice focused on AI-enabled hiring, including vendor due diligence, fairness and defensibility audits, hiring process redesign, and AI governance.
He has held in-house talent leadership roles at GE Aerospace, Activision Blizzard, and Shell International, and spent over a decade at IBM Kenexa in assessment and leadership product development.
At SIOP, he has presented workshops on AI in learning and development (2025) and prehire assessment (2019), and he previously presented on AI at the 2019 LEC.
He holds a BSc (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Surrey and the University of North Texas.
